This work is deeply personal to me. Through lived experience with profound loss, I understand how isolating and overwhelming grief can feel — not only in the beginning, but in the months and years that follow. Because of this, I approach every session with empathy, gentleness, and genuine human connection.
These virtual support sessions are not clinical therapy, but rather compassionate companionship and emotional support for those navigating bereavement, life after loss, and the complex realities of grief. My hope is to offer presence, understanding, and a space where healing can unfold naturally, moment by moment.

I hold deep compassion for those navigating the unimaginable weight of life-altering loss. Some forms of grief can feel especially isolating, difficult to put into words, or hard to carry in everyday life.
My intention is to offer a space where even the heaviest experiences of loss can be met with care, understanding, and quiet support - without judgment, pressure, or the expectation to grieve in any particular way.

ABOUT ME
My name is Melissa Zirkle, and I created this space to offer compassionate, peer-based grief support rooted in empathy, lived experience, and genuine human connection. My work is centered on supporting individuals navigating loss, bereavement, and the emotional complexities that often follow life-changing grief.
Through both personal experience with grief and dedicated study in grief support, I understand how isolating loss can feel and how important it is to have a space where emotions can be expressed without judgment or expectation. My approach is gentle, grounded, and focused on meeting people where they are emotionally — whether they are facing recent loss, prolonged grief, complicated family dynamics, or simply trying to make it through day by day.
My understanding of grief is also deeply personal. After experiencing the devastating loss of my eldest child, I came to understand the profound, life-altering nature of grief in a way that extends far beyond words or timelines. That experience shaped the compassion, presence, and understanding I bring into this work, and strengthened my belief that no one should have to navigate profound loss feeling alone.
While I do not provide clinical therapy or medical treatment, I offer compassionate emotional support, presence, and understanding for those seeking connection during difficult seasons of life. I believe grief deserves patience, honesty, and care, and that no one should feel pressured to “move on” before they are ready.
Some experiences of loss carry a depth that can feel difficult to explain to others. I hold particular compassion for individuals and families carrying profound forms of grief and the lasting impact those experiences can have on everyday life, identity, relationships, and healing.
Above all, my hope is to create a calm, supportive environment where people feel seen, heard, and less alone in what they are carrying.
